Job Title: General Labor - Machine Operator
Pay Rate: $18/hr.
Shift: 8 PM -6 AM (Sunday to Wednesday)

Position Summary
We are seeking a mechanically-inclined Assistant Machine Operator to support the night-shift production team. The ideal candidate will assist with setting up, operating, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, perform precision measurements (down to 1/16 inch) and ensure efficient and safe production flow. This role offers opportunity to grow into full machine-operator responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
● Assist in machine set-up, calibration, and change-overs according to job specifications.
● Use a tape measure (and other measuring tools) with accuracy to at least 1/16 inch to verify parts, tools, or materials.
● Support the lead Machine Operator by loading/unloading material, supplying raw materials, and removing finished products.
● Monitor machine performance, watch for defects or malfunctions, and alert supervisor.
● Perform basic mechanical adjustments, cleaning, and preventive maintenance tasks.
● Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; comply with all safety rules and PPE requirements.
● Read and interpret job sheets, production schedules, and specification drawings.
● Report production output, scrap, and any downtime or quality issues.
● Assist with quality control checks and follow up on corrective actions.
● Provide support across shifts and adapt to changing production demands.
Qualifications & Skills
● High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
● Prior experience in machine operation, manufacturing, or mechanical related role preferred.
● Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machine components and production processes.
● Proven ability to use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges) accurately to at least 1/16 inch.
● Ability to read job specifications, blueprints, and follow written & verbal instruction. Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
● Comfortable working an overnight shift (8 PM–6 AM) Sunday through Thursday.
● Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, and move around machinery safely.
● Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow.
Working Conditions & Environment
● Manufacturing/production floor environment; may involve noise, vibration, moving machinery parts.
● Overnight shift schedule: Sundays through Thursdays.
● Must adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times.
● PPE required: steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
