Join our Cancer Services team at Banner University Medical Center Tucson! Banner University Medical Center Tucson offers a wide range of medical and surgical care options, including Blood and marrow transplantation, Chemotherapy and Biologic therapy, Clinical research trials, Genetic counseling and testing, Interventional radiology, and Radiation therapy. You will work collaboratively with fellow genetic counselors and independently to provide genetic counseling to patients with personal or family history of cancer. Responsibilities include obtaining medical histories, developing pedigrees, analyzing test results, providing counseling, and participating in care conferences and accreditation processes. Responsibilities Provide counseling and genetic assessment services to at-risk patients and families. Obtain and review personal and family medical histories, construct pedigrees, and assess genetic disorder risks. Collaborate with clinical teams regarding care and research. Interpret genetics data and test results, recommend care plans, and provide psychosocial support. Assist with research protocols, patient consent, and data management. Educate healthcare professionals and the community on genetics. Work independently with medical guidance, interpret genetic risks, and provide care planning. Minimum Qualifications A Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling from an ACGC-accredited program and eligibility for Board Certification as a Genetic Counselor are required. Certification must be obtained within 24 months of hire. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, counseling, and critical thinking skills. For employees at Banner MD Anderson, a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
