Group Fitness Instructor (Birmingham) job at Greystone Golf and Country Club Birmingham, AL, US

Job Description

Essential Functions: Leads group exercise classes (e.g., strength training, Pilates, cycling, HIIT, or other specialties) with professionalism, enthusiasm, and attention to member experience. Delivers exceptional member service by learning members names, understanding their goals, and creating a welcoming class atmosphere. Designs and implements structured class plans that balance safety, progression, and enjoyment while adhering to the Country Clubs fitness standards. Demonstrates proper technique and form. Offers clear modifications and encouragement for all fitness levels. Maintains an inviting and clean studio space, ensures equipment is organized and functional before and after each class. Collaborates with the fitness and wellness team to support club events, challenges, and wellness initiatives. Promotes club programs and services to enhance member engagement and retention. Stays current with fitness trends, certifications, and continues education to deliver innovative, results-driven classes. Requirements: Nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor Certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, or equivalent). CPR/AED Certification (Either currently certified or willingness to certify in-house). Minimum 12 years of experience teaching group exercise in a professional or private setting. Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a member-first mindset. Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude. Ability to adapt instruction to various class sizes, demographics, and abilities. Comfortable using music and equipment to enhance class energy and flow. Specialty certifications: Group exercise, Pilates, HIIT, Strength Training, Cycling, and Barre (Preferred but not required). Experience working in a hospitality or country club environment (Preferred but not required). Knowledge of anatomy, exercise science, and injury prevention (Preferred but not required).
