Butler County Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Kids on Campus Program Staff. Kids on Campus Program has been offering students entering into grades 1-8 an exciting summer enrichment program for Butler County and surrounding areas for the past 24 years. We are located on the beautiful Butler County Community College campus in Butler, PA, which offers students a rich and fun day of activities indoors and outdoors. Our six-week program runs June 10-27 and July 8-26 with no Fridays or weekends. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and we offer before and after care. We are looking for talented teachers and teacher assistants who love inspiring curiosity in children and have an interest in any of the following areas: sewing, crafts, sports, indoor and outdoor games, theater, art, science/STEM, chess, Legos, robotics, technology as well as any new ideas you could bring to the program. We take pride in thinking outside the box for the types of camps we offer children. If hired, you may choose how many of the six weeks you would like to work as well as which weeks. We also place teachers and assistants with the age group and subject matter most preferred so that the summer is fun for the students and the educators.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with children
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, dependable, flexible, and calm in all situations
  • Capable of sustaining energy for participation in a full day's worth of activities
  • A teaching degree is helpful as a teacher for the camps, but not always necessary especially if you have a great deal of knowledge in a certain area.
  • Clearances for the following Pennsylvania child abuse history, Pennsylvania criminal history, and FBI criminal history
