Maintenance Technician – NIGHTS + $1.50 Differential The Maintenance Technician is critical to the smooth operation of our Fulfillment Center and will be required to perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of our facility assets and material handling systems. The Maintenance Technician must take responsibility for the safety, quality and timely execution of these support services which include, but are not limited to: material handling equipment, forklifts, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance. Responsibilities Completes work orders, preventive maintenance sheets, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electrical/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeter, laptop). Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment (material handling equipment, forklifts, dock equipment, and facility equipment) according to safety and quality procedures. Troubleshoots and repairs complex electrical/electronic problems on equipment with PLCs, VFDs, soft starts, servo drives, and external I/O devices. Additional Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair facility assets. Interior and exterior lighting. Dock equipment. Plumbing and related fixtures (urinals, toilets, sinks, etc.). Light construction work: drywall, framing, paint, etc. Competencies Motivation – Sets and achieves challenging goals. Experience in a trade (electrical, mechanical, welding, etc.) essential. Journeyman maintenance needed; responsible for repairs (mechanical and electrical), forklift maintenance, conveyor maintenance, and general duties. Knowledge of hand and power tools, forklift operation, and experience in a trade essential. Safety and Security – Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly. Attendance/Punctuality – Is consistently at work and on time. Observes the time limits for breaks and lunches. Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments; works required overtime when needed. Initiative – Volunteers readily; seeks increased responsibilities; asks for and offers help when needed. Qualifications / Requirements Three years of related experience in material handling equipment (conveyors and sortation), mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance and/or installation. Advanced mechanical troubleshooting. Advanced electrical troubleshooting. Advanced controls troubleshooting. Proficient in MS Office. Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Ability to work flexible hours.
