Overview
We are seeking motivated candidates for the HOST position at IVR Bar. 

Ideal candidates are energetic, friendly, outgoing, and dependable. Prior restaurant experience preferred, commitment to great customer service required. 

Candidates selected for hire will complete several days of onboarding and on-the-job training during service at IVR Bar. New hires will be required to complete onboarding and demonstrate proficiency in required duties, guest interaction skills, ability to work well with others and reliability. 

Located on Milwaukee's Northwest side at 10950 West Good Hope Rd, International Variety Restaurant - IVR Bar will emphasize choice and offer international favorites and fusion cuisine.

IVR Bar's upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere features a large 25-seat full service bar serving dozens of domestic and imported beer on draft, an approachable wine list with varietals from around the world, handcrafted cocktail and mocktail program developed in house, and high end spirits.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests promptly with a friendly demeanor.
• Proficiency in POS and Table software powered by Toast
• Provide detailed menu information and assist guests with selections.
• Ensure timely seating and turning of both walk-in and prior reservations. 
• Maintain cleanliness of the host stand area, including bussing tables and resetting for new guests.
• Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines to ensure the highest quality service.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
• Collaborate with BOH and FOH staff and managers to ensure smooth service flow.
• Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction.
• Adhere to procedures outlined in allergy policy, foremost notifying a manager and safe handling of food items to prevent cross-contamination.
• Daily sidework maintaining cleanliness in entrance/host stand area, restrooms, and anywhere in the restaurant.
• Check out with manager prior to clocking out.

Experience

• Hourly rate plus tip pool
• Previous host role within the bar and restaurant service industry preferred
• Familiarity with food preparation techniques and food safety standards is advantageous.
• Strong menu knowledge (including pronunciations)
• Strong cash handling skills are essential for processing payments effectively.
• Excellent guest service skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
• A team player who is willing to help colleagues when needed.
