Upper School Business, Finance, and Economics Teacher

Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES) is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable educator to teach Business, Finance, and Economics in the Upper School. This position offers the opportunity to engage students in real-world financial concepts, business principles, and economic theories, preparing them for success in college and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of courses, including Business, Personal Finance, and possible AP Economics
  • Create engaging, real-world, project-based learning experiences that develop financial literacy, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Utilize case studies, simulations, and interactive technologies to enhance students’ understanding of business and economic concepts.
  • Incorporate current events and market trends into lesson plans to make learning relevant and practical.
  • Support students in applying financial and business principles through hands-on experiences, such as investment challenges, entrepreneurship projects, and guest speaker engagements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate business and economic concepts into broader academic discussions.
  • Serve as an advisor to a group of students, fostering mentorship and personal growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Previous teaching experience at the high school or college level is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, economic theory, and business operations.
  • Ability to bring real-world experience and practical applications into the classroom.
  • Passion for inspiring students to develop financial literacy and business acumen.
